Graduation from culinary school
YAY! I'm finally graduating from culinary school. I have worked on my externship for like a year...it really shoudn't take that long. In the beginning I had to accomplish 660 hours in one job site. It really took me like five. My first job was at a really nice, fine dining kind of place and I couldn't hack it. They wouldn't let me do any hands on work because I wasn't learning fast enough. My second job was at a little pizza place. It was quiant and comfortable and I was really at home there. I had to leave this time because the owner couldn't fight the war agianst the 'Big Boys' anymore, she closed. I then worked a summer at a Boyscouts camp as the kitchen director. For obvious reasons I had to leave this one too. It was only a seasonal job. My last job was at a little bakery, which was part of a chain, we just didn't have that many in New England. I finished out my hours here in the little bakery and thought I was done. But my hours advisor from school screwed up in the calculation of my hours somewhere and I was missing 18 hours. I seriously didn't understand how she could have messed up. But I was in a pickle. I was already off the payroll of my job at the bakery. I only saw one way of going about the missing hours. I called up my ex-employer and asked if she could fudge a couple hours sheets so that my hours advisor would leave me alone. She was hesitant but she let it slide. Now that all my hours are in I can move on and graduate on the 18th of July. YAY!
